These volumes appear to be 1980s reprints of the 1887 originals.

It was authored by the commanders and their subordinates from both the Confederate and Union forces who actually fought, planned, or were eyewitnesses to the events they describe. The books are profusely illustrated with maps, charts and engravings by artists of the era.

Published by Castle, presumably in the 1980s, and purchased new in 1987.

Condition: These books and their box are in Very Good Condition. The pages are clean and unmarked except for a previous owner's name and purchase date on the flyleafs. The dust jackets have slight wear on the edges. The navy blue box has some wear and scuffing on the back.
