Abuse. It comes in a variety of forms. Physical. Mental. Emotional. Love. I think love is used as a synonym for abuse. People blame why they stay with an abuser because they simply love the person. That is not true. A victim stays with an abuser because they are imaging their significant other as they once were in the “beginning” when things were like a fairy tale. They imagine the abuser as a person who will exceed all expectations without fail, without a slap in the face, without words that condemn.
