What is this? Well, it’s not really a memoir, although it does contain memories. It’s not really a collection of short stories, but there are stories — and they’re not very long. It’s kind of a collection of essays, but that sounds stuffy. And this is not intended to be stuffy.

As the title implies, this book deals with death (and love and pizza). Certainly, grieving was a big reason it was written. Yes, that sounds heavy.
But, don’t worry, it’s not all tears.

There are stories of family, friends, and the loss of both. There are stories about pizza. So much pizza. There are bits of wisdom and lessons learned scattered along the way, like how to give a good eulogy and why you shouldn’t pee on an electric fence. That alone is worth the price.
