Raggedy Ann's Wishing Pebble (Used Hardcover) - Johnny Gruelle

This is the story of how Raggedy Ann and Andy find a wishing pebble, then lose it, while a nasty little man finds it and tries to play many tricks on the duo in order to make it work. Eventually he learns that only kindness pays, returns the pebble to Raggedy Ann, and it is then sewn into her cotton body so she cannot lose it again. Wonderful children's story, full of fancy, small woodland creatures, and great lessons! My favorite: "And when anyone tries to get out of a little bit of work which he has to do, or when he puts it off until some other time, then it seems as though the work which is put off grows and grows until it takes ever so much longer to do."
